A Call For Article Submissions!

Here at The Mickey Mindset, we work daily to bring you discussions and reviews of both classic and current Disney films and as it will continue to do for hopefully many years to come. Unfortuantley, with other personal things currently taking up our time, we find it hard to post every day to bring you the best of the Disney universe, daily. That’s where you come in.

Much like our companion site, The Muppet Mindset, we gladly accept all submissions from YOU, the reader. Have something Disney-related in your brain that you think would make a good article? Chances are that other readers will find it interesting as well!

There’s many opportunities for you to voice your opinion about various different Disney films, television shows, theme parks, and much more. Everyone is welcome to contribute, so if you have something you’d like to add to the site, entries are always welcome through our email at mickeymindset@gmail.com.

Have we already reviewed the film you were planning to? We welcome all opinions to the site, so don’t feel discouraged if your favorite film has already been covered.

There are various different ways to contribute to the Mickey Mindset. Have you been to one of the Disney Parks lately? Tell us about your trip! What are your favorite locations/attractions in the Disney theme parks? Have you watched a new or classic Disney film lately? Feel free to send your review and your opinions to feature in our “Retro Reviews” segment. What’s your favorite Disney TV show? You can tell us your answer, and why you love the show when we showcase TV shows in our “TV Show Spotlight” posts! Plus, feel free to send your Disney artwork to be featured on our Disney Fan Art Showcases

The Mickey Mindset reserve the right to edit or refuse any articles that are submitted, but we’re usually very accepting of all articles, so chances are, your article will be well accepted, and many fans would be happy to read it too. Feel free to send us an article!

Got any more questions or comments? Send us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Thanks, Disney fans! We can’t wait to hear from you and read some of your wonderful articles!

Say Hello to the American Mindset!

In honor of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it was decided we would pay tribute to the franchise by changing our website name to the American Mindset on release day in honor of our fellow Captain. But as all good success stories happen, we decided not just to change the name of our site on release day, but we'll be changing our website name permanently!

Henceforth, we will focus on our favorite American Disney characters, movies, and television shows. This is obviously a big change for all of us here at  The  Mickey American Mindset, so here to make the announcement is our favorite patriotic eagles, Sam the American Eagle, fresh off of his success of Muppets Most Wanted.

Official Statement:

Greetings! A glorious April morning to you all. It is on this day, the first of April, that we rededicate this weird website to the truth, justice, equality, and liberty that is AMERICA. I, Sam the American Eagle, am honored to be presenting the very first post on The American Mindset--and what better way to do it than the week my personal hero, Captain America returns! Why, he's my favorite sailor! Yes, I know some people, like Mitchell Stein will attempt to convince you that Captain America is some sort of weird superhero in spandex tights--but he is undoubtedly an American Sailor. Besides, did you know that Mitchell Stein is Canadian?! Appalling! Disgusting! Horrifying!! Thankfully, Mitchell has seen the errors of his Canadian ways and has adapted to America--just as everyone should (and will). Thankfully, there is also Ryan Dosier, a decent American person, although I've been told he has an obsession with The Muppets, so how decent can he really be?

Thank you for this most humbling and patriotic of opportunities. Enjoy, The American Mindset!

Getting to Know The Mickey Mindset

Ryan Dosier - After starting The Mickey Mindset yesterday, I started to realize that I have very little credibility for in the Disney world. Yes, I'm a big-time Muppet fan and everyone knows that, but I'm not sure how many people realize how big of a Disney fan I am. Today's post is an attempt to remedy that by getting to know me a little bit.
1.   Aladdin was the first movie I ever saw.
It's true! I was two years old when Aladdin was released in theaters and I guess my parents decided I was old enough to go see it. I have no real memory of this, of course, but there's photographic evidence somewhere. But subconsciously this first movie going experience changed me, and I would be obsessed with Disney animation and Disney characters for the rest of my life. Funnily enough, Aladdin remains my favorite Disney movie and one of my favorite movies period... so something must have stuck when I was two.
2.   I've been to Walt Disney World at least 15 times.
I've been to Walt Disney World so many times that I've honestly lost count and can't keep track anymore. My first trip to the Magic Kingdom happened when I was three, and my most recent trip happened this past August when I was almost 23. I've spent Thanksgiving and New Years Eve at the Magic Kingdom, I've visited Hollywood Studios after hours, and the Parks are absolutely my home away from home.
3.   I own every Disney animated feature on Blu-ray or DVD
From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Wreck-It Ralph, I own all 52 Disney features--and every Pixar film as well. It takes up a lot of shelf space, to say the least, but I really pride myself on having every single one to watch whenever I want. About once a year I like to watch them all in order and see how the Disney animation prowess evolved.
4.   I've visited The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank--twice.
Thanks to some very awesome people, I've had the incredible thrill of being on The Walt Disney Studios lot two separate times. The first was thanks to my friend Ramond Persi, story artist and voice of Gene in Wreck-It Ralph, who graciously offered to give me a tour when I was in town for the D23 Expo in 2011. The second time was for an early screening of The Muppets later in 2011. It's an amazing place and you can practically smell the history in every corner of it.
5.   Disney means the world to me.
If you haven't figured it out, I love Disney. I love the movies, the Parks, the people, the characters, the music, the merchandise... I can't get enough of any of it. I'm so thrilled to be a part of the Disney fandom and to have a website to express myself on now.

Welcome to The Mickey Mindset!

It is with great hesitation and very little forethought whatsoever that the minds that brought the world The Muppet Mindset launch a brand new website focusing on the work of The Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, and a host of other Disney-related articles.

We're looking forward to discussing all-things Disney with the internet at large and we welcome any articles written by Disney fans to post on the site. If you are interested in submitting an article, artwork, or really anything to The Mickey Mindset, email us at mickeymindset@gmail.com.

Aside from submitted articles, we're looking forward to reviewing every single animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios for the foreseeable future. We also hope to pay tribute to the amazing music of Disney animated features, as well as take a look at some of the great television animation that has come from Disney over the years.

The Mickey Mindset is thrilled to join the Disney fandom online and can't wait to get started making out dreams come true!
